11 Ways to Survive Quarantine

Am I the only one who is going crazy during this pandemic thing?

I hadn't spend so much time in my house for as long as I remember myself. At first, I thought it would be cool. Being at home, doing nothing, watching Netflix for hours, having no responsibilities. It felt like I was in heaven. But now it seems like I have no purpose in my life. The honeymoon phase of this whole situation didn't last longer than a week. It was around the 6th day when I started trying to come up with something to do with my time.

I think you get what I mean, that's why you are probably reading this post right now. Because you're just so bored!!! and I totally understand that. I can't wait to be able to freely socialise with people, it sounds so weird, but you know what, we always want what we can't have. I'm sure that right after the first day of going back to normal, I will want to go and sleep back to my bed, no doubt!

I really tried to put some genuinely good ideas in this post, to be honest I tried most of them and they helped me a lot to feel better, plus I definitely had so much fun as well!

So let's start with the list...

My Pinterest

1. Cooking/Baking

11 Ways to Survive Quarantine
This one was probably expected, but I have done it multiple times in the last weeks, and I was never disappointed. I did some amazing chocolate chip cookies a couple times with a recipe I found online. I'm usually bad at cooking, but I think this time I didn't mess up that much. There are so many recipes you can find online from simple deserts, to sophisticated gourmet meals. No matter how good you're at cooking you don't have anything to lose if you try! And it's such a productive way to spend your time!!

2. Start a bullet Journal

If you are more of the creative type of person, then this one is for you. You should definitely pick up a journal and start doodling, make those mood boards, or do any kind of planning. This will make you feel you're doing something productive straight away! I started a travel journal, I collected every Polaroid or old card postal from my trips, and I put them together and then voila I had all memories safely in place.

3. Organize your drawers

I personally didn't have anything to put in order, but if you're the messy type here's your chance to get a little bit more organized. Every time I start cleaning my room, I always find old things that I thought they were lost for good. So if you want to go into a small exploring adventure, then definitely start by reorganizing your drawers!

4. Make a TikTok

I know that this one is a desperate move, but I was desperate and I tried it. After spending hours and hours watching videos on TikTok, I fell into the temptation to make one myself. It was fun and I was a little bit embarrassed with myself, but it made, at least, time pass quickly. Just be careful to not fall in the trap of watching for hours, this was probably the most unproductive way I spend my time in the last weeks. It was definitely a waste of time, but making them was hilarious.

5. Go for a run

It doesn't have to be a 5 or 10 km run, do whatever you feel comfortable with. Run for 20, or 30 minutes, you'll feel so much better afterwards, and don't forget that running is a great way to keep  yourself fit. You will get some fresh air and you'll be so refreshed and ready to do more things at home. This is one of my favourites, depending on the day!

6. Put on a facemask

If you're looking for a way to relax this is probably one of the best. A skin care activity is never a waste of time, and looking out for yourself every once in a while is never unsatisfying. Have fun with this one, there are so many type of masks you can try! Lately, I like a lot those Korean face masks, they're just so good!! You should try them!

7. Watch Netflix with friends

And by that I don't mean to meet together. There is this amazing google extension called "Netflix Party" and you and your friends can log in and watch the same movie at the same time, while you chat, and make comments. All that while you're miles away from each other. It is fun, and definitely an interesting experience.

 8. Do a room makeover

This is what I'm actually doing right now. I try to change my bedroom, buy new furniture, paint some of them, clean a lot, and everything that comes with a complete make over! You don't need to buy many expensive things to do that, you can just try to reuse old stuff just in a different way!!

9. DIY

I love DIYs! Have you ever tried to make some friendship bracelets? They are so easy to be made, there are even a lot of videos on youtube, and you can also give them as a gift to your family or friends! There are so many DIYs you can do! I usually search on pinterest to find some inspiration, but I'm sure you can find some really good ideas on the web as well!!

10. Work out

What's better than a small glow up during this time! I know working out isn't a very popular way to spend your time, but I gave it a try a couple times. I turned the music on, and I just did a couple set of crunches, lunges, and I think you understand what I mean. I'm not a big fan of working out at home, but if you are, you should definitely try it!!

11. Find a new hobby

Try to think of whatever you wanted to do in the past, but you never had time to because of your busy schedule. For me it was this blog, and look at me! I'm already in my second post!! Yeyyyyy!! I'm sure there is something you have always desired to do. So here is your chance to finally make it!
